WHY SCEPTIC
leaders .COM ?
Watching leadership develop in others has been a
growing passion of mine for quite a few years now.
My passion lies not in leadership itself but in what
can occur if we take seriously the affect effective
leadership can have on the groups, organisations,
companies, movements and in my case churches and
ministries in which we lead.
I've
had the privilege of leading in a few different
environments from Church youth ministry, to
Shire/Local Council setting, to the sporting arena,
to a variety of camping programs to where I am now,
leading a
Church, or more accurately a parish (2
Churches). Being in these different environments has
helped me appreciate the many different ways one
needs to lead depending on the circumstance.
I have
been lead to realise that there is a great
leadership vacuum in Australia (especially) that
desperately needs to be filled by people who, if
they can contribute in their own small yet effective
way can incredibly better the situations they find
themselves in. I'm also aware that whilst people are
willing they are not necessarily equipped, which is
where I see myself being able to make a small yet
meaningful contribution.
Sceptic Leaders aims to Serve, Challenge, Encourage,
Provoke, Teach, Inspire and Confront leaders, hence
the acrostic SCEPTIC. I also feel that there are
lots of people in leadership positions or with
leadership potential who are very sceptical about
leadership development, it is this sort of attitude
I hope to confront, challenge and alter, so that
ultimately our communities and society can be
bettered.
I hope
this site is helpful to you, please feel free to let
others know about it or provide me with some
